Taste of The Orient is definitely your best choice, or possibly your only choice if you are looking for a yum cha dining experience that uses quality culinary ingredients.  Owner, Joe Lam, bases his dishes on traditional yum cha cooking skills he acquired in Hong Kong, adding his own creative recipes using fresh free range meats and organic ingredients. We bet you can’t find it anywhere else in a yum cha restaurant. This makes eating at the Taste of the Orient unique and much healthier than traditional yum cha fair.

Take pleasure in our selection of scrumptious offerings such as assorted steamed and fried free-range dim sims, the well-known steamed buns, tiger prawn dumplings, spring rolls , and a range of gluten free items and traditional Chinese desserts.

We also sells yum cha at Wesley Hill Market and various Farmer’s markets. Eat-in, take-away and catering is available.

With the support of our patrons, Taste of The Orient has built up a good reputation, it has been featured in The Saturday Age, Life & Style and The Age Cheap Eats Guide 2011. It was also interviewed by the 5.30 pm channel 9 Post Cards to share the topic of cultural treasure in central Victoria. The show will be casted on 21st August 2011.

Taste of The Orient is a great place to spend quality time with your family and a place to socialise with your friends.

The mission of Taste of The Orient is to bring the best local, organic, and free-range ingredients to a traditional Cantonese Yum Cha with a contemporary twist. We would certainly like to share our culture with you. Our friendly staffs will provide you with customer satisfaction, and a genuine yum cha dining experience.
